In January 2026, Pugh was found guilty of first-degree murder after a three-day jury trial.

Pugh faces murder charges in connection with an incident that occurred at a Love’s truck stop near Shartlesville, Pennsylvania, shortly before 3 a.m. on March 22, 2024.

According to police, an argument erupted as truck driver James Hilton, 40, of New Jersey, was helping another truck driver in parking at the Love’s.

During the dispute, Pugh shot Hilton and fled the scene in his semi truck.

Hilton was pronounced dead on the scene.

Shortly after the incident, police located and detained Pugh.
