The announcement further noted that as part of the verdict, Tomilin was ordered to pay $650,000 in restitution, forfeit cash and assets totaling $3,891,650, and pay a $100 assessment.

On February 2, 2024, the jury convicted Konstantin Mikhaylovich Tomilin and another defendant, Yevgeny Felix Tuchinsky, of wire fraud and honest services fraud.

According to investigators, Tomilin and Tuchinsky, along with others, owned Salt Lake Trucking Group (SLTG).

SLTG is made up of many trucking businesses that contract to transport goods for FedEx Ground (FXG). SLTG paid almost $300,000 in bribes to Ryan Mower, an FXG linehaul manager, throughout the course of the conspiracy, which lasted around ten years. Mower exploited his position to game FXG’s process for awarding fresh runs, allowing the co-conspirators to grow their business larger than FXG permitted by providing false information to FXG. SLTG earned around $150 million in revenue from FXG during the conspiracy’s duration.

The US Department of Transportation’s Office of Inspector General (DOT-OIG) collaborated on this investigation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Internal Revenue Service – Criminal Investigations Division, and the Defense Criminal Investigative Service.
