Fourteen people have been detained in relation to an investigation by the Miami Valley Human Trafficking Task Force.
The operation was initiated by several area and state agencies, including:
- Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office
- Ohio Attorney General’s Office
- Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission
- Butler Township Police Department
- Oakwood Public Safety Department
- Homeland Security Investigations
The task team carried out a multi-day operation, taking many people into custody.
Authorities accuse the majority of those detained of solicitation and importuning, among other crimes.
“This operation sends a clear message that the exploitation of others—especially minors—will not be tolerated in Montgomery County,” the task force stated in a press release.
“Our task force remains committed to identifying offenders, protecting victims, and working with our partners to hold those who engage in this behavior accountable.”
