An illegal immigrant who was one of Canada’s most wanted fugitives was apprehended last week in Mississippi, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) stated Tuesday.
Adrian Vincent Walker, 28, a top 25 most-wanted international fugitive in Canada, is accused of first-degree murder.
“Thanks to the brave men and women of ICE, one of Canada’s most wanted criminals is now in prison. ” This person was wanted for a murder in Canada,” said Acting DHS Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis. “He is now facing charges for illegal entry into the United States and illegal possession of a firearm.”
On March 23, federal agents apprehended Walker at his home in Tupelo.
The Toronto Police Service (TPS) sought Walker for a shooting that occurred on May 7, 2024, in the city’s York district.
According to Canadian authorities, Trevor Dalton John, 31, died as a result of the shooting; a lady was also injured but survived.
Another defendant, Kemyan Franklyn, 20, was apprehended days after the shooting and charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder.
Following the event, Toronto police designated Walker as a “most wanted person.” Federal authorities stated that Walker had been hiding in Mississippi using a false identity.
Walker, who previously served more than three years in a Canadian jail for aggravated assault, will face federal charges in the United States for unlawful entrance and possession of a firearm before being extradited to Canada to face murder and attempted murder charges.
