A driver was taken into custody early Saturday morning after officers uncovered a loaded handgun during a traffic stop.
At around 1:30 a.m. on March 28, Sgt. Leary and Ofc. Baez pulled over a car for speeding and an apparent light violation.
The driver of the vehicle did not have a valid driver’s license, according to the Nahant Police Department.
Officers discovered a fully loaded 9 mm pistol underneath the driver’s seat.
According to authorities, the driver did not have the necessary license to carry the weapon.
The operator was detained on multiple weapons and vehicle counts.
