Indiana Conservation Officers discovered the body of an 11-year-old girl who had gone missing in the East Fork of the White River earlier this week.
Around 10:42 a.m. on Thursday, conservation officer divers discovered the girl in 10 feet of water. She was approximately 80 yards from where she was last seen.
First responders were dispatched to Mill Race Park when the girl went underwater and did not surface.
The girl and her friends were on a sandbar in the river when she waded too far out and became caught in the current.
Crews searched the water using boats, sonar, and drones.
