Most of Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, and Rhode Island will be under an extreme heat watch

We anticipate terrible temperatures in most of Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, and Rhode Island in the coming days.

An Extreme Heat Watch has been issued for all of southern New England, with the exception of the Berkshires’ east slopes and the Cape and Islands.

From Sunday afternoon until Tuesday evening, temperatures might reach more than 105 degrees Fahrenheit.

From Sunday to Tuesday, high heat and humidity are expected to persist. Monday and Tuesday will be the hottest and most humid days, with heat index values approaching 110 degrees in some areas.

Heat-related illnesses rise dramatically during excessive heat and high humidity situations.

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, avoid direct sunlight, and check on family and neighbors.
