The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office reported that eight people were arrested on Tuesday as part of an investigation into alleged narcotics trafficking in the Parkrose area.
The sheriff’s office stated that the investigation began when a deputy observed drug trafficking activities while patrolling near the Parkrose Transit Station and a TriMet bus route.
On Tuesday, a search warrant was executed at a residence near Northeast 96th Avenue and Northeast Mason. The sheriff’s office claimed investigators seized drugs, cash, and stolen items, including an e-bike worth more than $5,000. The e-bike was returned to the owner.
A total of eight people were arrested, and the district attorney’s office will decide on criminal charges. The sheriff’s office has not revealed the names of those arrested.
“The work put into this case reflects our efforts every day to support and improve public safety along our local transit system,” stated Sheriff Nicole Morrisey O’Donnell. “The level of service and engagement provided by our deputies and partner agencies is focused on reducing crime and strengthening community confidence in the work we do.”
The inquiry is ongoing, and no other information has been given at this time.
