Suffolk Deputy Taken Into Custody On Child Trafficking Charges

A Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department deputy is in custody after being suspected of raping and sexually trafficking a 15-year-old boy in various South Shore cities, according to officials. The suspect, 41-year-old Richard Kielczewski of Hanson, was arrested late Friday and is being jailed on $250,000 bond. He will be arraigned in Plymouth District Court Monday.

The Hanson Police Department launched an investigation last week after receiving accusations that the youngster had been sexually assaulted many times and that child sexual abuse material had allegedly been made, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office. Investigators acquired an arrest warrant, and Kielczweski was apprehended late Friday with the assistance of Middleborough police, according to WCVB.

Prosecutors said Kielczweski is facing a slew of counts in Middleborough, Hanson, and Halifax. They include trafficking a person under the age of 18 for sexual servitude, many counts of child rape exacerbated by a 10-year age gap, and several instances of remuneration for sexual conduct with a minor. The Middleborough case also includes witness intimidation and luring a child under the age of 16, while the Hanson and Halifax complaints include additional counts of rape and trafficking, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and NBC Boston.

According to a statement obtained by WCVB, the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department called the claims “extremely serious and deeply disturbing” and suspended Kielczweski indefinitely. The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office stated that he was employed as a correctional officer in 2015 and had received public recognition for his work with the Toys for Tots program. The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department even mentioned him in its March 2025 bulletin. Officials have not disclosed any new information as the inquiry continues.

Kielczweski is being jailed in lieu of $250,000 bond and is set to be arraigned in Plymouth District Court on Monday, Boston 25 reports. NBC Boston reported that Massachusetts State Police troopers assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office have joined Hanson, Middleborough, and Halifax police on the case. Prosecutors said the inquiry is still ongoing and have not revealed any additional information about evidence or suspected motives.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the case to contact the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office or the local police departments engaged in the investigation. The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office also provides victim assistance and a Children’s Advocacy Center to assist victims and their families.
