A routine traffic check near Lakeland on Sunday night developed into a “Buy One Get One” arrest for Polk County Sheriff’s Deputy Ellerbe, resulting in the arrest of two people on various offenses.

On June 22nd, around 10:35 p.m., a vehicle was pulled over near the intersection of Longfellow Boulevard and Main Street East. The stop swiftly escalated when deputies discovered an outstanding warrant and illegal drugs.

Andrea Comar, 44, of Lakeland, was determined to have an active Polk County warrant for methamphetamine possession.

Comar, who is now on probation with a curfew of 10:00 p.m., was apparently cooperative and was taken into jail without incident. She was arrested on her warrant and also charged with violating probation.

The driver, 54-year-old Timothy Wayne Boyette of Lakeland, proved significantly less cooperative. During the stop, deputies noticed a packet of methamphetamine “sitting on top of a pile of clothes directly behind Tim.” When told to get out of the car, Boyette allegedly resisted.

Deputies then “provided him assistance, which he reluctantly accepted,” to get him out of the truck.

Timothy Boyette is facing a number of charges as a consequence of his resistance, including battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting with violence, resisting without violence, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and keeping a vehicle for drug use.

Andrea Comar and Timothy Boyette are no strangers to law enforcement, having been described as “frequent guests at Grady Judd’s Bed & Breakfast,” a colloquial term for the Polk County Jail.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office continues to crack down on drug-related charges while also ensuring public safety in the community.
