Two men were arrested for their alleged involvement in the theft of two full gas cans from a family-owned food trailer in Ocala.

On Monday, June 16, a deputy from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2600 block of SW Highway 484 in Ocala. According to the arrest record, a female victim advised that three people stole gas cans from the back of the food trailer.

The deputy stated that the victim had supplied “excellent video footage” of the theft occurrence. On that video, three people—two men and one woman—were seen coming to the food trailer at 11:50 p.m. on Sunday, June 15.

One of the suspects then removed two red gas cans from the food trailer and placed them in an all-terrain vehicle (ATV). The suspects then fled the area in their car.

The gas cans were worth around $80.

According to the report, the deputy was able to “quickly identify all three suspects” because of his “extensive prior dealings” with them. The man suspected of driving the UTV was identified as 28-year-old Bobby Shane Creech, while the second male suspect who allegedly stole the gas cans was 39-year-old James William Henderson Jr.

The female suspect’s name was not released by the MCSO.

According to the report, the deputy concluded that Creech “assisted” in the theft, while Henderson “stole two red gas canisters.”

A review of Creech’s criminal history revealed that he was convicted of grand theft of a motor vehicle in June 2021 and of grand theft of a motor vehicle and burglary of a conveyance in December 2024. Both cases occurred in Hillsborough County.

Henderson also had many past theft convictions in Marion County, including petit theft (over $100 but less than $750) in February 2022, grand retail theft (over $750) in March 2022, and petit theft (over $100 but less than $750) in April 2023.

Creech was arrested and lodged into the Marion County Jail on Tuesday, June 17. Two days later, he was released after posting a $7,500 bond. He is charged with second-degree petty theft (third or subsequent crime) and grand theft of a motor vehicle (more than $750 but less than $5,000).

Henderson was also arrested on Tuesday and sent to the Marion County Jail, where he is currently being held on a $2,500 bail. He has been charged with second-degree petit theft (third or subsequent crime).

According to jail records, Creech and Henderson are expected to appear in court at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22.
