Teen arrested after girl fight attracts crowd at Wildwood mini-mart

A teenager has been apprehended following a girl fight earlier this month that drew a throng to a Wildwood mini-mart.

According to a Wildwood Police Department arrest record, an officer responded to a physical disturbance at Kamal’s Mini Mart, 327 Kilgore Ave., on the afternoon of June 6. According to dispatch, there were about 15 to 20 people in the area, including two ladies, one of whom was later identified as 19-year-old India Sanaa’ Jackson of Mount Dora, who were actively engaged in a violent argument.

Upon arriving, numerous witnesses waved the police down and urgently informed him, “She’s over here. They’re in the car!” He noticed a blue 2017 Chevrolet Equinox hurriedly departing the scene and heading north on Jackson Street. He promptly conveyed the vehicle’s information to dispatch, according to the report.

The officer then spoke with 23-year-old Keyoni Tamar Davis, who was clearly distraught and said Jackson sprayed her with pepper spray. He noticed some orange liquid on her clothing and left arm. He called Sumter County Fire Rescue as a precaution and assisted in rinsing her face and arm with warm water. Fire rescue personnel treated her on the scene.

After cooling down, Davis recognized Jackson as the other woman involved in the confrontation. It all started because Jackson wanted to confront her sister, who was now in law school. To protect her sister, Davis promised to confront Jackson on her behalf. The two sides agreed to meet behind the grocery shop, according to the report.

Another officer obtained video surveillance from a grocery shop. According to the report, the film was of poor quality and just showed a large throng and a vehicle.

Meanwhile, a car was seen turning north onto Mill Street from Kilgore Street. Two officers followed it to 505 Jackson Street. According to the complaint, an officer from the supermarket store arrived at the incident and spoke with the female driver.

She indicated that she fled the area out of fear and was not involved in the confrontation. She admitted to being Jackson’s friend and was merely driving. She dropped Jackson off near Lee Street in Wildwood. She also informed Jackson that he had an active warrant for a probation violation out of Marion County, according to the report.

Regarding the altercation, she reported that they went to the corner store for beverages. Davis rushed up to Jackson and shoved her into the vehicle. She was on top of Jackson, attempting to choke and punch her, according to the report.

Davis’ mother was holding Jackson’s hands down, and it took five people to pull them off her. After it ended, Jackson and her companions all climbed into the car. Davis and her party attempted to enter again, but Jackson pepper-sprayed them, and they drove away, according to the report.

The police obtained another statement from another passenger in the vehicle, who confirmed the driver’s account. They claimed they proceeded to the corner store, and Davis rushed up to Jackson and pushed her into the car. She took a few more punches from Davis before she was lifted off Jackson. They then fled, according to the report.

According to the complaint, officers were told that the physical altercation was preplanned. Officers received this information on the scene, and both parties agreed to meet at the incident location. Consequently, the authorities issued warrants for both women. An unrelated incident involving burnt marijuana cigarettes in her bra led to Davis’s detention on Saturday.

This week, a warrant led to Jackson’s arrest on charges of disorderly conduct. She was taken to the Sumter County Detention Center and bond was set at $150.
