Teens Lead Police On High-speed I-75 Pursuit And Crash

Three teens fled a traffic stop in Lockland early Thursday, leading police on a brief high-speed chase down Interstate 75 before colliding in Cincinnati.

The driver, 18, and one of his two juvenile passengers, ages 15 and 16, were sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities say.

No cops were injured, and charges are pending against the motorist.

It all began shortly after 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

Lockland police said they saw a vehicle driving on the road with its lights turned off.

Officers attempted to stop the automobile for the suspicious violation, but the driver fled on the ramp from South Cooper Avenue to southbound I-75, according to police.

Police pursued the vehicle, but say they stopped it once it reached the Galbraith Road exit because the fleeing driver was traveling at speeds above 90 mph.

The sedan entered Cincinnati, exited the interstate at Paddock Road, and collided on East Seymour Avenue in Roselawn.

According to Lockland police, the driver and front-seat passenger were trapped inside the vehicle.

Cincinnati fire crews rescued and took them to the hospital.

The motorist was initially in bad condition, but is now stable, according to authorities.

The front seat passenger had several cuts but is generally fine. The backseat passenger was unharmed, according to authorities.

Officers are currently investigating, but the vehicle has not been reported stolen.
