An accused Allentown-based drug trafficker has been detained after officials seized more than six kilograms of cocaine, five handguns, and a ghost gun with a high-capacity magazine, Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday revealed on Thursday.
Angel F. Gil, 32, is charged with felony drug trafficking and six counts of possessing a restricted firearm, citing prior felony convictions for drug trafficking and gun possession.
Officials claimed Gil was being investigated for cocaine trafficking in Lehigh and Northampton counties.
On Wednesday, two search warrants were executed at two properties, one on Greenleaf Street in Allentown and the other on Bangor Road in Nazareth, as well as on two vehicles associated with Gil.
Police reported finding weapons, a kilogram of cocaine, and cash inside the homes.
An additional five kilograms of cocaine were discovered during car searches. They also discovered two other handguns, the ghost gun, and $35,000 in cash inside a “well-concealed in a trap console.”
The Allentown Police Department, Slate Belt Regional Police Department, and Emmaus Police Department’s K-9 Unit assisted with the investigation.
Gil was arraigned Wednesday afternoon, with bail set at $500,000.
