Detectives with Constable Mark Herman’s Special Victims Unit (SVU) and High Tech Crimes Unit (HTCU) apprehended 31-year-old Ryan Southam after discovering a missing juvenile girl believed to be in his company.
Constable The Patrol Division led by Constable Herman submitted a runaway report, which prompted the start of the investigation. Detectives employed legal instruments and data analysis to locate the missing girl and determine Southam’s residence in The Woodlands.
When detectives visited the home, they discovered the missing child and securely retrieved her. Following an on-scene investigation, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office charged Southam with harboring a runaway.
He was booked into the Montgomery County Jail, and bond was set at $10,000. Additional charges may be brought pending additional investigation.
The juvenile was restored to her parents.
“Our office provides all available resources to protect the most vulnerable of our citizens, especially the children of this community,” stated Constable Mark Herman.
