According to the Erie County District Attorney’s Office, a Buffalo woman was sentenced to 90 days in prison followed by five years of probation for fatally hitting a woman in November.
According to officials, Niyonna Cunningham, 23, was intoxicated when she hit and killed Madonna Bishop, 62.
On November 28, 2024, at around 10 p.m., an event happened near the intersection of Boehm Place and Bailey Avenue. Cunningham was under the influence when he drove a Ford SUV with an infant inside. Bishop was brought to the ECMC and declared dead.
Cunningham pled guilty to second-degree vehicular manslaughter in May and faces a maximum sentence of seven years.
