According to court records, Holman used stolen USPS collection box keys to access blue mailboxes at several locations between December 2022 and June 2023, including 95 Fountain Street in New Haven and two West Haven addresses: 589 Campbell Avenue and 844 Jones Hill Road.

Holman was caught on June 12, 2023, after returning to one of the West Haven locations and attempting to open a mailbox. At the time, he had two collecting box keys. A search of his home yielded more than 3,000 pieces of stolen mail, USPS mail bins, a credit card reader, and an embosser.

According to federal authorities, the stolen mail contained thousands of checks and money orders sorted by bank, totaling more than $1.5 million in face value.

The case was handled by the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut.
