Indiana Crime Guns Task Force (ICGTF) officers arrested four men last week during a guns investigation.
Earlier this month, ICGTF investigators began a firearms investigation into Winston Pearson, 26; Ameer Davis, 25; Anthony Sandifer; and Jonathan Helm, 23, respectively. Pearson had just been released from prison and was apparently threatening individuals with violence.
On July 17, investigators observed Pearson carrying a black handgun in his waistband near Moller Road’s 4600 block. Pearson later joined a car with three other people. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department called in Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) due to their criminal history and the presence of firearms.
Sandifer fled the scene as officers sought to stop the vehicle. After a brief pursuit, the vehicle came to a halt, and all four passengers were arrested. Three firearms and 30 grams of marijuana were discovered.
Davis was detained on two outstanding warrants, as well as allegations of false identification statement and marijuana possession. Pearson was detained and charged with unlawful handgun carry, Sandifer with resisting law officers and unlawful handgun carry, and Helm with possession of marijuana.
