A Guatemalan citizen who repeatedly re-entered the United States illegally was sentenced earlier this month in an Omaha federal court for using a fraudulent Social Security number to obtain a job in Nebraska.
According to a Wednesday press release from the US Attorney’s Office, Gregorio Pablo-Lares, 38, was living in West Point, Nebraska, when he utilized a phony state ID and a fraudulent Social Security card to prove his identity. The Social Security Administration eventually confirmed that the SSN provided by Pablo-Lares belonged to someone else.

On July 18, Chief District Court Judge Robert F. Rossiter Jr. sentenced Pablo-Lares to eight months in jail on each count of “intent to deceive” and “re-entry of a removed alien,” to be served concurrently, according to the statement.
The federal legal system does not offer the possibility of parole.
