A man who allegedly stole over $300 in quarters from a hotel laundromat and caused thousands of dollars in equipment damage has been arrested, according to police.
Denny Zug, 44, is charged with entering the Residence Inn on Harrisburg Pike on June 18, 2023, going to the coin-operated laundry area, forcing open five laundry machines, and stealing $384.25 in quarters.
According to Manheim Township police, the hotel laundry area is only accessible to guests with a key card, and the theft resulted in $3,554.34 in equipment damage.
On August 26, 2023, it happened again.
Zug allegedly obtained access to the washing area and grabbed further coins, the exact number of which is unknown. Police say he damaged the equipment for $2,132.60 during the crime.
After the incidents, authorities identified Zug as a suspect and issued an arrest warrant.
Zug was arrested on unrelated charges on Thursday and is now being held in Lancaster County Prison, according to police.
He was arraigned on Wednesday, and bail was set at $25,000, according to police.
