Three 18-year-olds and one 21-year-old man from D.C. were detained after a stolen car chase near New Market, Maryland, which resulted in many crashes and the hospitalization of a Frederick County Sheriff’s Office deputy.

A sheriff’s officer attempted to stop multiple men suspected of tampering with cars near Jordan Boulevard in New Market on Sunday at 3:26 a.m. The males fled in two separate automobiles, and the pursuit began.

One of the cars driven was a 2017 Subaru Outback, which was later discovered to have been stolen out of Carroll County. Following a collision with a tree, the Subaru crashed off Mussetter Road. The deputy who was pursuing the car was also involved in the accident and received minor injuries at the hospital.

The other car, a 2012 Toyota Camry, lost control and collided with a parked patrol car with its emergency lights turned on. The deputy in the patrol car got out before the Camry approached.

Multiple organizations, including the Maryland State Police, Montgomery County Police, and the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, collaborated to find the suspects, who have been identified as Deangelo Dubose (18), Zaire Graves (18), Darin Comer (18), and Dayneil Bullock (21).

Dubose’s charges

  • Theft: $1,500 to $25,000
  • Motor Vehicle Theft
  • Malicious Destruction of Property over $1,000
  • Obstructing and Hindering
  • Resist/Interfere with Arrest
  • 12 Traffic Citations

Graves’ charges

  • Theft: $1,500 to $25,000
  • Motor Vehicle Theft
  • Assault – Second Degree
  • Obstructing and Hindering
  • Resist/Interfere with Arrest
  • 14 Traffic Citations

Bullock’s charges

  • Theft: $1,500 to $25,000
  • Motor Vehicle Theft
  • Obstructing and Hindering
  • Resist/Interfere with Arrest
  • 1 Traffic Citation

Comer’s charges

  • Theft: $1,500 to $25,000
  • Motor Vehicle Theft
  • Obstructing and Hindering
  • Resist/Interfere with Arrest
  • 1 Traffic Citation
