A Mexican national has been charged with illegally returning to the United States after being discovered unlawfully living in Denton County.
51-year-old Jose Luis Piedra-Sosa was identified in a federal grand jury indictment released this week in the Eastern District of Texas, charging him with illegal reentry as a previously deported immigrant.
According to the indictment, Piedra-Sosa was apprehended on June 23, 2025, in the Eastern District of Texas after previously being deported.
If convicted, Piedra-Sosa may face up to two years in federal jail and deportation.
Homeland Security Investigations is conducting the investigation, while Assistant US Attorney Stevan Buys is prosecuting the case.
