The Georgia State Patrol first saw the truck on Friday. It is plastered in unapproved markings that read “Riverdale Police Impound.” It also has a license plate featuring a reproduction of the City of Riverdale seal.

Riverdale officers jumped on the matter and promptly initiated an inquiry. The vehicle and the driver were instantly identified. They confirmed that the operator is not affiliated with the department and has never worked for the RPD in any manner.

Officers soon found and arrested the man. He was accused with police impersonating. According to WSBTV, police officers acknowledged that this deceit is unconstitutional and undermines public trust. The force is dedicated to maintaining the department’s integrity and ensuring community safety.

Also, the Riverdale Police Department would like to hear from you. Officers are investigating to see if there are any unreported instances involving the truck driver.

Anyone who has encountered the individual or noticed dubious behavior regarding the tow truck is encouraged to notify the department.

Remember, if a tow truck arrives at the scene of an accident without being asked by you, law enforcement, or your roadside assistance provider, it may be a fraud.

It’s also a red signal if the driver is unable to give clear identity, the company name, or contact information.
