Texas Woman Taken Into Custody After Telling Man “the Dog Would Attack” While Impersonating An Officer

A Texas woman has been arrested after allegedly pointing a gun at a man she accused of being an illegal immigrant while falsely pretending to be a police officer. The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office stated on Facebook that Alishia Blevins, 58, was arrested on Saturday and charged with making a terrorist threat.

Deputies were called to a property in Kirbyville and saw a man sitting near his vehicle on a county road. Blevins informed cops that the man was “an illegal immigrant and was trespassing on her property.” However, when deputies investigated, they discovered that he was properly parked on a public road and had never invaded her property.

According to the sheriff’s office, the man claimed that Blevins pulled out a weapon, ordered him out of his car, and demanded “his proof of insurance, name, cellphone, and keys.” He claimed she then used his phone to call his wife, during which she purportedly described herself as a police officer—which detectives later proved was false.

The man and his wife both made formal statements to deputies, which bolstered the account. According to investigators, Blevins also claimed that her German shepherd was a K-9 officer with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. She allegedly placed the dog into the man’s vehicle and warned him that “the dog would attack” if he attempted to flee.

Deputies dismissed her trespassing claim, stating that the man had stayed on public land. However, they announced in a public statement that they had summoned immigration officials to ascertain the man’s legal status. “We will obey the law and all federal statutes,” the sheriff’s office stated in an update.

Blevins is now facing legal issues of her own. In addition to the terroristic threat accusation, law enforcement sources said she could face charges for impersonating a peace officer. She was booked into Jasper County Jail on Saturday.

The case has called into question both her actions and the treatment of the claimed victim, who was purportedly targeted based on preconceptions about his immigration status. For now, the individual is awaiting possible inspection from federal investigators, while Blevins remains in detention facing serious criminal allegations.
