The Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested two 26-year-old twin brothers from Mexico on Friday on various felony counts linked to the burglary of homes under construction.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office apprehended Eder Zaragoza Marin Ibar and Juan Elder Marin Ibar at their residence on Ellie Road in Auburndale.
Investigators say the brothers were apprehended on Friday afternoon based on existing warrants. The twins face charges of grand theft exceeding $20k, burglary (13 counts), felony criminal mischief, dealing in stolen property, and possession of burglary tools.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the brothers’ “specialty was burglarizing homes under construction.” As the investigation progresses, additional charges may be filed.
The Marin Ibar twins are illegally in the United States, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) received information about their capture and crimes following their arrest and booking at the Sheriff’s Processing Center. ICE has issued a hold on both individuals.
