A Jackson woman is now arrested in Texas in connection with an alleged human smuggling incident.
On August 27, a trooper with the Texas Department of Public Safety pulled over Shakira Dominique Jordan.

The incident was captured by body camera surveillance and has since been shared with X.
The trooper pulled over Jordan as she was traveling down Aguirre Street in Val Verde County.
The trooper requested Jordan to step out before asking for her license and determining who else was in the car.
Jordan then explains that the passenger is a friend and that she was dropping off ‘people for a friend.’
Jordan and four other passengers were held.
Three passengers were illegal immigrants from Cuba and El Salvador.
The fourth passenger, Sharifullah Sharif Zoi, was 28 years old. Authorities recognized him as a Special Interest Alien from Afghanistan. They were all turned over to the US Border Patrol.
