According to the announcement, Texas Rangers Special Operations Group and Border Patrol agents observed four people dressed in camouflage with backpacks.

They attempted to intercept the people, who had recently crossed the Rio Grande from Mexico, at US-83 in Rio Grande City.

The people then tossed their packs and swam back across the river to Mexico, according to DPS.

Following that, two backpacks were discovered, each carrying 30 bundles of cocaine totaling approximately 69 pounds and worth $2,208,000.

This is still being investigated by the DPS Criminal Investigations Division and Border Patrol.
