An early Sunday morning car collision in Dallas killed one person and sent four others to the hospital, according to authorities.

Dallas Fire-Rescue crews went to a two-car incident at 2:20 a.m. at FM 1382 Highway and West Camp Wisdom Road in Dallas’ Red Bird neighborhood, where they discovered many vehicles with significant injuries.
Authorities reported that a silver sedan, heading northbound on FM 1382, rear-ended a red sedan carrying four people, including two children. Witnesses managed to rescue the male driver from the burning silver sedan.
The driver of the silver vehicle was pronounced deceased at a nearby hospital. Four other occupants from the second vehicle were sent to nearby hospitals. They are likely to survive.
The traffic detectives from the Dallas Police Department spent several hours charting the crash. All northbound lanes of the roadway were closed, with traffic diverted to side streets. The investigation is underway.
The identity of the individual who died has not been revealed.
