The Cecil County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a man in a major cocaine bust during a drug investigation.
The Cecil County Drug Task Force’s yearlong investigation culminated in the arrest of Eddie Harley, who was responsible for distributing numerous kilograms of cocaine throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia.
According to officials, on September 23, detectives noticed Harley driving north on Interstate 95 in Baltimore and worked with the FBI Philadelphia and Delaware State officials of Troop 2 Drug Unit to devise an arrest strategy.
Harley’s vehicle was tracked to Philadelphia, where he allegedly obtained a controlled dangerous substance.
Police say that when he returned to Delaware, state police performed a traffic stop, and a K9 scan revealed the presence of drugs. A search order executed on the vehicle uncovered a compressed kilogram and a separate bag of powder cocaine weighing 1,252 grams, both stored in an electronically controlled compartment behind the radio.
Harley now faces state charges in Delaware, with federal charges being considered.
