A suspect in an armed house invasion in Central Florida was tracked using technology and then by a K-9 before being apprehended.
According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, Jerron Singletary recently smashed into his ex’s bedroom window in Deltona. She had a friend and a sister in the house at the time, and they fought back. During the fight, Jerron pulled out a revolver and threatened them. He fired a shot at the ceiling, snatched a cell phone, and then left via the window.
Responding deputies spotted Singletary’s vehicle, which fled the scene.
However, because Singletary had the stolen cell phone with him, deputies were able to trace his vehicle as it drove out of Deltona, into Lake Helen, and finally to Cassadaga Road.
K-9 Zord responded to the area, discovered his abandoned SUV, and tracked through the woods to a property where Singletary was discovered hiding beneath an RV. He was taken into jail without incident by the Volusia Sheriff’s Office and Lake Helen Police.
