Freeze Warning Issued for Capital Region Including D.C.., Maryland, and Virginia Counties

The National Weather Service in Baltimore, MD/Washington, DC, has issued a chilly weather warning for residents and visitors to the capital region. According to the NWS website, a freeze warning is in effect until 8 a.m. EST today for parts of the DMV area, including the District of Columbia and counties such as Prince Georges, Anne Arundel, Charles, Montgomery, and Howard in Maryland, as well as Arlington, Alexandria, Prince William, Fairfax, and Stafford in Virginia. Temperatures are anticipated to decrease to between 30 and 32 degrees.

Residents in these areas should be aware that chilly weather may cause damage to fragile plants and outdoor plumbing. The NWS statement indicates that frost and freeze conditions may harm crops, other vulnerable vegetation, and unprotected outdoor plumbing. The alert illustrates the importance of taking action now to safeguard plants and pipes from the harsh weather.
