A Waldorf man who was released from jail after being arrested for domestic violence returned to his victim’s home and brutally beat her again, less than six hours after he walked out of the detention center.
Around 1 a.m. on November 8, officers responded to the 4200 block of Drake Court in Waldorf for a report of a domestic assault.

When cops arrived, they discovered a woman inside a home holding a toddler. She had visible injuries and was covered in blood.
Officers de-escalated the situation and discovered that the suspect had returned home after being detained and charged with assaulting the same woman less than six hours before.
The backstory: According to police, the suspect, James Bowman, III, 40, was arrested on the night of November 7 for a domestic assault.
According to reports, Bowman punched the victim in the face and bit her hand.
Following his arrest, a district court commissioner released Bowman from the Charles County Detention Center on personal recognizance, with the condition that he not abuse the woman.
Within an hour of his release, Bowman assaulted the victim again, according to the police. This time she was carrying a child.
She was able to separate from Bowman, locking herself in a bedroom and calling 911.
However, Bowman forced the door open and assaulted her as she tried to set the child on the bed.
While beating the wife, he also hit the child in the head, causing an injury. EMS treated both the sufferer and the child.
No Release: EMS immediately arrested Bowman and charged him with assault and child abuse.
Bowman was held without bond by a district court commissioner, and a judge ordered him to remain in custody on November 10.
