A 12-year-old girl from Washington, DC, was arrested after being accused of two robberies in October.
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced that the pre-teenager was apprehended after participating in the robberies, which took place less than 30 minutes apart. The unidentified girl was arrested on November 9, and authorities stated that the offense occurred on October 5. The girl was charged with two counts of robbery, one for snatching and the other for force and violence. Police confirmed that the girl did not commit the offenses alone.

Police said the first robbery occurred about 7:47 p.m. The victim was riding his bike after purchasing groceries. A bunch of juveniles reportedly approached. One of them threw a bicycle into the victim’s path, after which two of the juveniles attempted to steal the bike. Instead of stealing the bike, they snatched some goods before fleeing the area.
The next crime occurred 19 minutes later, when the second victim rode a scooter past a gathering of juveniles. The suspect allegedly stole the scooter but hid it after noticing an MPD mountain bike police officer approaching them. Before abandoning the car, the suspect allegedly stole a mobile phone from the scooter.
The remaining juveniles who may have been involved in the crimes have not been apprehended or identified. As the investigation proceeds, the Metropolitan Police Department is offering a $1,000 reward to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and indictment of individuals responsible for the robberies.
