According to the US Attorney’s Office, law enforcement obtained information in 2023 that Logwood was traveling to Monroe to sell methamphetamine.

The Monroe Police Department, Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office, and federal agents set up surveillance and pulled Logwood over once he was discovered driving.

According to the US Attorney’s Office, Logwood admitted to having a gun in his car during the traffic encounter. The office reports that during the stop, the following items were found in Logwood’s vehicle:

  • 4.5 kilograms of “nearly pure” methamphetamine
  • Percocet pills
  • Pill crusher
  • 1.5 kilograms of marijuana

The DEA, ATF, Monroe Police Department, and OPSO all conducted investigations into the case. J. Aaron Crawford and Daniel J. Vermaelen, both Assistant US Attorneys, prosecuted the case.
