Rayquan Bass, 18, was arrested for second-degree murder, using a firearm to conduct a felony, and possessing a defaced firearm, according to an OPD update released Thursday.

Yourhansay Gonzales-Washington, also 18, was detained on charges of possessing a defaced firearm, tampering with physical evidence, and being an accessory to a felony, according to the release.

Bass and Gonzales-Washington were arrested in Council Bluffs on Wednesday before being transported to the Pottawattamie County Jail.

The arrests are in connection with a shooting just before midnight on October 31 near 36th and Polk streets in South Omaha.
