One person was badly injured following an assault on a Central Ohio Transit Authority bus in Columbus on Wednesday evening.
Around 5:40 p.m., Columbus police responded to a report of a brawl aboard a COTA bus in eastern Columbus. Upon their arrival, the cops found an adult victim who had allegedly suffered an assault from another passenger.
The victim was rushed to a Columbus hospital for life-threatening injuries. Due to the severity of the injuries, the Columbus Division of Police Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation.
Police believe the suspect, 54-year-old Robert Salley, knew the victim. Salley was arrested near the scene and put into Franklin County Jail on a felony assault charge.
