Quadajah Johnson, 31, of the 9200 block of W. Senate Drive in Des Plaines, Illinois, faces first-degree murder charges in the death of a 31-year-old woman.
According to a news release from the Chicago Police Department, the arrest occurred on December 3, 2025, following an investigation into the September 8 incident.
Johnson is scheduled to appear for a detention hearing on December 4, 2025, at the courthouse at 2600 South California.
The victim, whose identity has not been published, was apparently fatally shot on September 8 of this year in the 0-100 block of W. Cermak Rd., sparking a massive manhunt for the offender.
Authorities report that they have finally closed in on Johnson and arrested her without incident in her suburban community.
The Chicago Police Department explains bluntly, “The offender was placed into custody and charged accordingly.”
Details about the murder’s motive or circumstances have yet to be made public, and law enforcement officials have released no other information at this time. Following Johnson’s initial court appearance, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office is expected to release additional information regarding the case.
