A 55-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision Saturday evening at the junction of Midlothian Boulevard and Southern Boulevard.
According to a police report, officers arrived at the site at 5:50 p.m. and found one of the vehicles flipped upside down on the railroad rails.
The woman, the only occupant of the overturned vehicle, was pronounced dead on the site.
According to officials, the driver of the second vehicle was uninjured.
Yellow caution tape closed the intersection for several hours after the incident while investigators worked on the area.
The Youngstown Police Department and the Mahoning County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate the event. The identity of the deceased woman has not yet been revealed.
