Sergio Velazquez, the former Hialeah Police Chief, was detained Monday morning on various counts, according to the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office.
State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle and Florida Department of Law Enforcement Special Agent in Charge John Vecchio held a press conference today to announce the arrest of Sergio Velazquez, former Hialeah Police Department Chief, for thefts committed during his tenure.
