Police: Adams County Fire Chief Stole Over $14,000 From Two Separate Fire Departments

An Adams County fire chief is facing charges for allegedly defrauding two different fire departments out of thousands of dollars.

According to authorities, Darrell Eugene Cornett Jr. was involved in a theft scheme in Baltimore County that defrauded “$10,189.98 from the Reisterstown Volunteer Fire Department and an additional $4,272.12 from the Glyndon Volunteer Fire Department.”

Cornett Jr. is currently the fire chief for the Greenmount Community Fire Department.

He was arrested by Liberty Township police on January 1 and sent to Adams County Prison, where he will be extradited to Baltimore County.
