Forecasters are tracking the potential for a storm later this week that could bring snow and a wintry mix.
Snow alerts were issued for six New Jersey counties on Sunday afternoon, with snow squalls and severe winds expected into the evening.

“Scattered snow showers are occurring near and north of the Interstate 80 corridor,” the National Weather Service said in a special weather statement. “These showers are capable of producing brief periods of heavy snow which can rapidly reduce visibility to less than 1 mile and lead to accumulation of snow on untreated roads.”
Snow alerts have been issued for Bergen, Essex, Passaic, Sussex, Warren, and Morris counties until 6 p.m. “Be prepared for rapidly changing visibility in the heavier snow showers,” the weather agency advised.
Officials asked motorists in the impacted areas to exercise extra caution and keep a greater gap between vehicles.
