Man missing since Saturday discovered dead near popular trail in Overland Park

The Overland Park Police Department says the body of a man missing since Saturday was discovered on Monday afternoon.

According to the initial report, 36-year-old Joaquin Briceno was last seen around 3 p.m. on January 24, 2026, walking near W 133rd Street and Antioch Road in Overland Park.

He was reportedly dressed in a gray sweater, blue jeans, black Skechers tennis shoes, and spectacles and was carrying a black rucksack.

Briceno’s body was discovered on Monday at the Tomahawk Creek Trail, between W 137th Street and Antioch Road. The investigation is ongoing, but investigators do not suspect foul play.
