A Hendricks County snowplow driver was taken into custody Tuesday evening after police said he crashed a county snowplow while impaired.
According to the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash involving a Hendricks County Highway Department snowplow around 5:45 p.m. on January 27. The crash occurred on County Road 550 West, near Stilesville.
According to investigators, the snowplow went off the road and flipped onto its passenger side in a ditch. Deputies arrived at the scene to find the driver had already exited the vehicle without any injuries. However, deputies reported seeing indications of possible impairment.
Deputies performed an operating-while-drunk investigation and arrested the driver. The driver was sent to the Hendricks County Jail.
