A “dangerous fugitive” was apprehended in Cairo, according to the Grady County Sheriff’s Office.
On Tuesday, Grady County Deputies and US Marshals detained Navaris Broomfield, 35.
Broomfield was wanted for violent aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, robbery, petit theft, and resisting after an altercation at a Tallahassee Dollar General.
Broomfield ran over a store employee with his van and fled the scene, according to GCSO.
According to the sheriff’s office, Broomfield was arrested while living in his truck in Cairo.
During his arrest, he was caught in felony possession of synthetic substances, the GCSO said.
Ashley Lewis, 39, Broomfield’s roommate, was also detained. The GCSO said that she was in possession of drug paraphernalia.
