According to investigators, the teenagers gained entrance by posing as delivery personnel and then forcing their way inside once the door was opened.

Victims Reportedly Restrained as Another Person Hid

Scottsdale police reported that they restrained two people during the incident. According to investigators, a third victim hid elsewhere in the home while the incident transpired.

These details, authorities said, influenced the initial response as officers sought to secure the scene and locate the suspects.

Suspects Fled Through Back Door, Tracked to Nearby Strip Mall

Police say the suspects ran out the rear door and drove away. Officers were subsequently able to follow the vehicle to a nearby strip mall, where both youths were apprehended without further incident.

One Teen Identified, Second Not Named Due to Age

Police have recognized Jackson Sullivan as one of the accused. The second teen was not officially recognized due to his age.

According to authorities, both youths face various felony offenses.

Charges Listed by Police

Scottsdale police stated that the case involves many felony claims, including:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Kidnapping
  • Second-degree burglary
  • Criminal impersonation
  • Disorderly conduct
  • Felony flight

Formal prosecution choices and court outcomes will ultimately be up to prosecutors and the legal system, but police said the claims reflect the gravity of what they believe happened inside the residence.

Police Say Home-Invasion-Style Crimes Are Rare in Scottsdale

Scottsdale police underlined that home invasion-style incidents are extremely unusual in the city and that there is no continuous threat to the community, according to the article.

That reassurance is frequently given in updates when an incident raises public anxiety, particularly when suspects are accused of utilizing trickery to gain entrance.

Why This Case Is a Reminder for Homeowners Everywhere

While this event occurred in Arizona, authorities around the United States frequently caution citizens to be wary of sudden taps on the door, especially if someone claims to be a worker or delivery person.

Here are some common safety reminders:

  • Confirming deliveries through an app or tracking notification
  • Using a doorbell camera or peep hole before opening
  • Asking for identification through the door if something feels off
  • Calling police if a situation escalates or turns threatening
