Jackson Township dad taken into custody for allegedly using child as human shield pleads not guilty

The father accused of using his daughter as a human shield during an arrest pleaded not guilty in Massillon Municipal Court on Thursday.

Ty Gracie, 39, faces charges of endangering children, disrupting official business, and disorderly conduct.

Gracie’s bond was set at $5,000.

On Monday, Jackson Township police responded to a disturbance at Bubba’s Restaurant on Dressler Road.

Officers claimed Gracie was drunk, causing a disturbance, and threatening an employee.

According to authorities, Gracie told officers while holding the child “to shoot him in the head.”

No one was injured in the incident.
