A Florida woman was sentenced to 30 years in prison after being convicted of an assault in 2023 that put a man in the ICU.
Melanie Crow was found guilty of first-degree assault, third-degree assault-special victim, and third-degree domestic assault by a Moniteau County jury on November 5, 2025.
A judge sentenced her to 20 years in jail for first-degree assault, six years for third-degree assault, and four years for domestic assault, all to be served consecutively.
Crow was on trial for assaulting a man in Morgan County on July 12, 2023.
She was also accused of headbutting a deputy in the face when they attempted to arrest her.
Her boyfriend, Jason Shifflet, was also charged with the attack.
Prosecutors charged him with two counts of first-degree assault: serious physical injury or special victim and armed criminal action.
His trial was slated to start on Monday, August 3, 2026.
