Mother Nature is clearly not cooperating with the United States this weekend.
On Friday, the National Weather Service issued tornado and thunderstorm warnings in regions of Texas.
“Storms are expected to develop along the I‑35 and I‑20 corridors between 5 and 6 p.m. before moving east,” CBS News reported. “As the storms progress, the greatest risk for severe weather will shift toward the Highway 271 corridor, where the threat is expected to peak around sunset, between 8 and 9 p.m. Large hail, damaging wind gusts, and heavy rainfall capable of causing localized flooding will be the primary concerns. There is also an elevated, non‑zero threat for tornadoes, making it important to remain weather‑aware throughout the evening.”
It turns out that Texas is not the only state in the United States experiencing severe weather on Friday night. The National Weather Service has issued thunderstorm warnings for the following states:
- Arkansas
- Mississippi
- Oklahoma
- Texas
Wind gusts of up to 60 mph are expected in all four states, with Mississippi perhaps reaching 70 mph.
