A man has been arrested for another man’s shooting death outside a north Houston lounge, police say.
On Thursday, police reported the arrest of Jaggard Bouldin, age 34. He is reportedly charged with murder in the death of 48-year-old Eric West.
The shooting happened on May 17 at Big Red’s Lounge at Lucky and Knox Streets, near South Victory.
According to police, Bouldin and West got into a confrontation, and Bouldin opened fire. He allegedly shot West several times before fleeing the scene on foot.
Houston police were first called to a hospital at 1:45 a.m. in connection with the incident.
West was transported to the hospital in a private vehicle. Doctors later pronounced him dead.
Later, authorities recognized Bouldin as the case’s culprit. Police reported that they detained him on Wednesday and placed him in the Harris County Jail.
There is no information on the events leading up to Bouldin and West’s fight.
It’s unclear whether the two knew each other before the incident.
