The FBI announced after a 25-year investigation that they had taken into custody a man wanted for his alleged involvement in the murder and kidnapping of a child in Pennsylvania.
According to the FBI Philadelphia, they have apprehended Alexis Flores, who was wanted for allegedly kidnapping and murdering a five-year-old girl in Philadelphia in 2000.
In August 2000, the victim was discovered strangled to death in a nearby apartment after being reported missing in July.
“The passage of time does not diminish our resolve or perseverance in the pursuit of justice. The arrest of Alexis Flores is the culmination of 25 years of tireless investigative effort. No matter how long it takes, the FBI will continue to pursue those who commit violent crimes and bring them to justice on behalf of victims.”

Flores was arrested in March 2007 and charged with murder, kidnapping, unauthorized flight to avoid prosecution, and other offenses.
